Alain Mieg
was born on May 24, 1964, and grew up in Lenzburg (Switzerland) in idyllic
and historic houses, which are continuing sources of inner strength and
calm. His love of art developed when he was very young and was influenced
by the artistic and sensitive sphere in which he grew up. Painting has
always been one way for him to express his innermost thoughts and imagination.
- A passion.
He attended school in Lenzburg. His decision to become an artisan instead
of continuing in academe formed the foundation for his training as a serigrapher
(silkscreen printer) and subsequently as a commercial artist, which in
turn further developed his eye for light and colour.
Very early on, he became fascinated by advertising and interpersonal communication.
He worked in management positions in advertising and human resources for
many years, continuing his education in advertising and business administration.
Painting remained his constant companion.
Professional development courses in painting, photography and interpersonal
relations followed. Achieving his life's dream of acquiring his grandparents'
house, he then focussed his concentration on painting.
Lengthy trips and stays abroad have contributed to accentuating his awareness
of beauty and the unknown. Expanses, coastlines, and horizons are still
a haven of peace and balance in Alain Mieg's life. He senses a profound
attraction to the sea, whose infinite depths are in harmony with the sky.
